About
All uh we means all of us.
“Aluwi comes from all uh we — a Caribbean phrase meaning all of us, everyone belongs. And WI is the West Indies. We're a studio built for all of we.”
Say it All-uh-wee — just like the phrase.
The vision
A Caribbean that sees itself reflected in the digital world — and builds it on its own terms.
The Caribbean shows up in the world's apps and games mostly as scenery — a backdrop for someone else's story. Our games, our sports, our money habits, our ways of gathering: almost none of it exists in digital form, and when it does, it wasn't made by us.
Aluwi is a culture-first, craft-first studio working to change that. We build for Caribbean people first — locals at the centre, the diaspora close behind, and everyone else welcome at the table. If someone in Barbados doesn't feel ownership of what we make, we've failed.
We also build differently. Aluwi is AI-assisted by design — that's the .ai in the name, and it's a feature, not a secret. Modern tools let a small island studio craft things that used to take a floor of developers. We use them in the open, and we hold the result to one standard: ship less, ship better.
Founder's note
I grew up with the sound of dominoes slamming on a table — that sound means family, argument, and joy all at once, anywhere in the Caribbean. Somewhere along the way I became an accountant, built a career in numbers, and kept noticing the same thing: the digital world had everything except us.
Aluwi is my answer to that. It started with one question — why can't I play real Caribbean dominoes, our rules, on my phone? — and grew into a studio with a slate: games built on how we actually play, tools built on how we actually live, starting from Barbados and reaching wherever Caribbean people are.
I'm building it lean, with AI as my co-craftsman and no interest in shovelware. Everything Aluwi ships has to pass one test: would all uh we be proud of this?
